Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Staffed, an AI chatbot service operated by The AI Handyman LLC ("Staffed," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

Staffed lets a business upload documents (PDF, Word, or text files) and get an AI chatbot it can preview and embed on its website. The chatbot answers visitors' questions using the business's own uploaded documents, presented under the business's own name and branding.

How the assistant answers questions

When a visitor asks a question, Staffed searches your indexed documents for the relevant passages and answers from that content. The assistant is built for faithful, grounded question-answering over your material, not open-ended conversation. We continually evaluate and tune the underlying AI technology to balance accuracy, speed, and cost, and reserve the right to change providers or models at any time without notice.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be authorized to act for the business you register.

3. Plans, pricing & billing

• Starter ($49/month): up to 20 documents, the embeddable widget and analytics, and one approved website domain.
• Pro ($99/month): up to 50 documents, the embeddable widget and analytics, and up to 3 approved website domains.
• Pro+ ($249/month): up to 100 documents, the embeddable widget and analytics, unlimited approved website domains, priority support, and higher monthly usage for high-traffic businesses.

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law. Prices may change with prior notice; changes apply to the next billing period. You're responsible for any applicable taxes.

4. Fair use & usage limits

Plans include generous monthly usage sized for normal small-business traffic. As a guideline, the Starter plan includes about 500 conversations per month, Pro about 1,200 conversations per month, and Pro+ about 3,000 conversations per month, along with the document limits above.

We will not cut your visitors off mid-conversation for going slightly over. However, to keep the service sustainable we reserve the right to contact you, require an upgrade, apply rate limits, throttle, or suspend service for usage that materially and repeatedly exceeds your plan's fair-use allowance, or that is abusive, automated, or not representative of ordinary website traffic.

Token-based usage. Chat responses are generated by AI language models, which process conversations in small units of text called tokens rather than a flat cost per message. We monitor token usage as part of operating the service, and we reserve the right, at our discretion, to throttle, rate-limit, or require a plan upgrade for usage that is abnormally high, automated, or otherwise inconsistent with ordinary customer-conversation patterns.

Document processing. Building your chatbot involves indexing (embedding) your documents, which has a real per-document cost. Normal updates are included; excessive or automated re-uploading and re-processing of documents beyond ordinary use may be rate-limited or billed separately.

Scaling up. If your usage grows beyond your plan (higher conversation volume, more documents, or a larger knowledge base), contact us at support@theaihandyman.ai and we'll set you up with a larger plan or a custom allocation.

Abuse protection. We apply per-visitor rate limits to protect your widget (and your usage) from scraping, spam, and automated abuse.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload content you don't have the right to use, or that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful.
• Use the service to violate others' privacy or to collect sensitive personal data without a lawful basis.
• Attempt to probe, reverse-engineer, or extract our prompts, models, or infrastructure, or to circumvent rate limits or security.
• Resell, sublicense, or offer the Staffed platform itself to third parties as your own product without a separate reseller agreement. (This does not limit the branding of your own chatbot. Presenting the widget under your business's name and look, with no Staffed branding shown to your visitors, is an included feature of your plan.)

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the documents and content you upload. You grant us a limited license to host, process, index, and display that content solely to provide the service to you. You are responsible for your content and for having the rights to use it.

7. AI output & no professional advice

The chatbot generates answers automatically and may occasionally be incomplete or incorrect. It is not legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice. You are responsible for the content you make available through your chatbot and for reviewing its behavior on your site.

8. Warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI answers will be accurate.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The AI Handyman LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or revenues. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The AI Handyman LLC from claims arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

11. Termination

You may stop using the service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or abuse. On termination, your right to use the service ends; data handling follows our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms and will revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Florida.
